Take your tape measure and measure the distances between the recessed lighting. Also, measure the distance between the junction box and the closest recessed light. Then, take a pair of wire cutters and cut the Romex wire to lengths that are about 4 to 6 inches longer than your measurements.
When it comes to spacing recessed lighting apart, industry standard is to divide the ceiling height in half and then use that number as your spacing guide. If you were to follow this, then lights for an 8 foot ceiling would be spaced 4 feet apart. Lights for a 10 foot ceiling would be spaced 5 feet apart, etc etc.
If a room has an 8 foot ceiling, you should space your recessed lights approximately 4 feet apart. If the ceiling is 10 feet, you'll want to put about 5 feet of space in between each fixture. Use this rule as a base line, though.
LED Strip Lights Linear LED strip lights are ideal for general, task and accent lighting as well as sign or channel letters, architectural lighting and more.
aspectLED > Resource Center > Installation Guides > Ultra Thin Recessed LED Fixture Installation Guide Overview aspectLED’s Ultra Thin series of recessed lights are bright, energy efficient, attractively styled, and designed to fit into the tightest of spaces, making them perfect for virtually any residential or commercial application.
At under 1” tall, these recessed lights can fit into tight spaces that a traditional recessed can light won’t, such as ceilings with ductwork piping obstructions, hot roof ceilings with limited vertical clearance, and tight soffits. aspectLED’s Ultra Thin recessed LED lights are low voltage recessed luminaires.

In that effort, I’ve put together a table top mock up for wiring recessed lights, along with steps and thoughts for running this lighting setup in a real home environment. Recessed lighting is a very popular home improvement project, and this article will help you better understand the wiring components of this job.
Recessed lights are an effective option for both new construction and remodeling if you’re looking for lighting that’s functional but “hidden” in the ceiling. This project guide details how to install recessed lighting and which recessed lighting parts you’ll need to complete the job.. Safety: Before beginning the project, cut the electricity to the room in which you’ll be working.
